Middle of the Week Stuff

David Skokan got to have the day all to himself as Skokan returned to action with the Rimouski Oceanic as they defeated the Chicoutimi Saguenéens 7-2 in QMJHL action Wednesday night. What ever injury Skokan was suffering from has disappeared as Skokan had an assist on the Oceanic's first goal of the game.

Skokan took 15 face offs going 9-6, took one shot and was credited with one "good hit". For the season Skokan is 2-9-11 25 PIMs in 18 games, Skokan is a -7, has won 51% of his face offs and has been credited with 21 "good hits".

Also in QMJHL action, Antoine Lafleur got to watch the debut of his new coach Guy Chouinard from the bench as his Prince Edward Island Rocket lost in Chouinard's debut 6-4 to the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles. The Rocket gave up 4 goals in the 3rd period to blow a 4-2 lead.

Ryan Hillier and his Halifax Mooseheads got to move up in the weekly CHL Mosaik MasterCard Top 10 rankings. The Mooseheads jumped from 10th to 7th this week as they are sitting pretty with a 10-3-0-1 record. Our congrats to the Mooseheads for another great week.

Hi do you know me? I am the last prospect to get my hockey season underway for the 2007-08 season and that happens this Friday night as my college Yale will open our season in the first ever Shootout at Ingalls in New Haven.

Seriously Greg Beller is a very nice young man who has had some very bad luck. The 2005 6th round pick of the Rangers has had to struggle though some nasty injuries over the last couple of seasons.

BUT he plays at YALE which alone should tell you that Beller is rather on the smart side. His goal is to become a doctor but we keep an eye on him many because he is a 6'3 215 lb. power forward who if he can ever stay healthy might become a Ranger first then a doctor.

Greg was kind enough to interview with us last season at the Blueshirt Bulletin and it was one of our more enjoyable times. Good Luck Greg
