The 3 Alarm Blaze

No New York Islander or New York Ranger fans this is a brand new report; if you are an Islander fan then you are seeing a repeat of last night's posting only because the players gave repeat performances.

Islander's First Star John Persson

Over the years we have seen some outstanding performances from the prospects but honestly what John Persson (2011 5th) is doing right now is simply mind blowing.  Add another 3 point performance from the 6'2 left winger from Mora, Sweden as it is just his 4th 3 point game in his last 5 games.

Persson and his Red Deer Rebels improved to 6-0-0-1 after they spanked the Victoria Royals 7-4 on Saturday evening. Persson went 1-2-3 to earn the game's 2nd star as he extended his goal scoring streak to 5 games (6 goals) and his point streak to 7 (7-9-15).

The only difference we have in tonight's report is Ryan Strome and Kirill Kabanov swapped spots in their star spots otherwise this report is a scary good repeat which you can find right here.

Ranger's First Star JT Miller

JT Miller (2011 1st) is making Ranger's Director of Scouting and Development Gordie Clark look smarter with each passing game.  The prospect who had Ranger fans jaw dropping when it was his name announced at the 2011 NHL draft as the Ranger's first round pick is just getting better with each passing game.

Miller had his own 3 point night as a 2-1-3 performance was part of an 8-0 butt kicking that Miller's Plymouth Whalers laid on the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds. Miller came very close to earning a Gordie Howe Hat Trick but had to settle for an unsportsmanlike minor.

Miller was joined by Steven Fogarty with a 3 point night of his own as the Ranger prospects had a pretty decent accounting of their own. The Ranger prospect report can be found here.

Sunday if you get the CBS Sports Network, Chris Kreider and his 2nd ranked Boston College Eagles will face off against Corey Trivino and his Boston University Terriers at 4PM EDT/ 1PM PDT. Trivino is listed as day to day with an ankle injury but Kreider will play.

(Persson- Red Deer Rebels, Fogarty- Penticton Vees)
