An ugly Sunday of hockey

Loic Leduc (QMJHL)
This won't take long as Sunday was not a pretty sight for 4 out of the 5 New York Islander and New York Ranger prospects who played. No offense to Loic Leduc (NYI 2012 4th) of the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles but if he is the best player of the 5 who saw action then something is wrong.

Leduc set a new career high in goals with his 3rd goal of the season but his Cape Breton Screaming Eagles lost to the Acadie-Bathurst Titan 4-1 on Sunday. Leduc was the only offense for the Screaming Eagles as he scored an even strength goal and was "even" on 4 shots with 1 hit.

Brady Skjei (NYR 2012 1st) had a really bad Sunday taking 2 bad penalties in the first period as his top ranked Minnesota Golden Gophers got spanked 6-2 by in-state rivals Minnesota-Duluth. Skeji took a boarding call and then took an interference call 3 seconds after his team started killing another penalty.

The resulting 5-on-3 led to Minnesota-Duluth's 3rd goal of the game which proved to be the game winning goal. Skeji was "even" on 1 shot as well as scoreless as he was paired for the 2nd time with Islander prospect Jake Bischoff (2012 7th) who also was scoreless on 2 shots and "even" too.

The 3rd local prospect Taylor Cammarata (NYI 2013 3rd) was a -1 on 0 shots.

Victor Crus-Rydberg (NYI 2013 5th) was scoreless as his Plymouth Whalers held off the Windsor Spitfires to earn a 2-1 victory over their rivals. Crus-Rydberg did take a minor for hooking but was pretty much quiet.
