Ssh Nappy Time

It is the very quiet before the prospect weekend storm with just Bobby Sanguinetti in action Thursday night. Sanguinetti and his Brampton Battalion took on the Niagara IceDogs beating them on the road, 5-2.

It was a pay back for the IceDogs defeating the Battalion on the Battalion home ice on Monday but the game was a marked improvement over the suspect performance the Battalion game on Monday.

For Sanguinetti one supposes only one assist for the evening is a quiet night based upon the 2 points per game Sanguinetti has been averaging but setting up a goal just 29 seconds into the game did a lot more damage than a multi point night might have.

Sanguinetti is now 7-6-13 in 7 games this season which still has him in the OHL top 10 scoring race (number 7) along with being in the OHL Top 10 in plus/minus and the leading scorer among defensemen.

Busy Busy Busy

If you are a real hockey addict then this is not the weekend to go "cold turkey" as with the Rangers playing back to back on Friday and Saturday, the prospects will be even more busy than the Rangers are.

Friday Night: Bobby Sanguinetti, Antoine Lafleur, David Skokan, Tomas Zaborsky, Jordan Foote, Carl Hagelin, and Billy Ryan

Saturday: Tomas Zaborsky, Danny Hobbs, Antoine Lafleur, Ryan Hillier, David Skokan, Carl Hagelin, Billy Ryan and Max Campbell

Sunday: Jordan Foote (NATIONAL TV ESPNU 5:37 PM), Antoine Lafleur, David Skokan and Bobby Sanguinetti

You can click on any of the prospect names and it will take you to their team website where you can listen (or in some cases) watch the games on the PC. If not Prospect Park will of course have reports about how all of them do.

Jess - Don't forget about Alexei Cherepanov, who picked up a goal and an assist yesterday in a 4-2 win. Cherepanov set up the goal that tied the game at 2-2, and then scored the insurance goal from an impossible angle to finish up the scoring at 4-2. Highlights from the game are available here: http://video.sportbox.ru/VideoStorage/20071011_hokkej_superliga_ava
(Cherepanov's #7 in white.)

Thanks for the report on Cherepanov. I do not report on him as of yet in part because of the time difference and the lack of a dependable source in Russia.
