It was Tuesday night in the QMJHL and the 3 member Ranger contingent was in action. David Skokan leads off our report as he has the only goal of the evening.
Skokan's 10th goal of the season tied the score at 3 in the 3rd period but his Rimouski Oceanic gave up one more goal a little over 4 minutes later to lose to the Quebec Remparts 4-3.
Skokan actually played a pretty solid all around game as he was 11-10 on his faceoffs, was credited with 5 shots of which 3 were solid scoring chances and had 3 hits for his evening.
Skokan has been playing some very solid hockey since his return from the World Under-20 Championships and his game appears to be getting better.
Ryan Hillier and his Halifax Moosehead took out their frustrations on the St. John Fog Devils whipping them 7-2. The Mooseheads had lost 2 straight games including getting smoked 11-6 by the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies.
Hillier had an assist for his 56th point of the season as his Mooseheads jumped out to a 5-0 lead and then cruised to the 7-2 win.
Antoine Lafleur was once again the backup as his Prince Edward Island Rocket lost to the Saint John Sea Dogs 5-3. No word as to when Lafleur will get his next start.
Upcoming
Tomorrow we will name our Prospect of the Week as well as get the voting started for the January Dean Prentice Prospect of the Month.
The Weekly Poll
Have to admit while we expected that Avery would run away with the votes as the Ranger that you folks wants to see resigned, we were kind of surprised that Rozsival was the second place pick.
The question now is if Jagr does not return would Rozsival as it was Jagr who convinced the Rangers to bring him back to the NHL and if the Rangers choose not to resign Jagr who will it affect Rozsival?
