Surprise Guess Who Is Player of the Week?

Ah cmon now you New York Ranger fans had to see this coming as it is not every week when you see someone Ranger put up 9 points in just 3 games. A 3-6-9 week means for the 3rd time this year Christian Thomas is the OHL Player of the week.

Christian Thomas in earning the OHL Player of the Week for the 2nd time in the month of March basically seals the deal for his being named OHL Player of the Month as no other player has won the player of the week twice in the same month as Thomas just did.

Kingston has no answer for him and if Thomas keeps piling up the points like he has been doing then Oshawa is going to be one very tough team to eliminate from the playoffs.

In Monday playoff action, David Toews (NYI 2008 3rd) and his Brandon Wheat Kings continue to surprise people as Toews and CO took game 3 of their series with the Medicine Hat Tigers 6-3 to take a 2-1 series lead.

The 6th seeded Wheat Kings have no home arena for the first round due to theRoyal Manitoba Winter Fair being held in Brandon so they relocated to Winnipeg and have not skipped a beat.

Toews was 1-1-2 in helping the Wheat Kings maintain something close to home ice advantage as he got the Wheat Kings going when he scored his 2nd goal of the playoffs just 1:33 into the first period on the power play. Toews added a secondary assist on Brandon's 5th goal of the game which put the game away at 13:34 of the 3rd period.

The team that nobody wanted to face in the playoffs is living up to that reputation as Medicine Hat stayed close until Brandon broke open the game in the third period. Game 4 will be Thursday in the Brandon home away from home in Winnipeg.

In the OHL, Andrew Yogan and his Erie Otters have themselves to blame as they gave up 3 goals in 62 seconds to cost them Game 3 of their series against the Windsor Spitfires 6-2. Yogan recorded his 2nd assist of the series on Erie's first goal but as our friend Victor Fernandes of GoErie.com they cost themselves this one.

Windsor has regained home ice advantage as they lead the series 2-1.
