The Power Game

A very fun Friday night whether you are a fan of the New York Rangers or the New York Islanders as you got to see a little of everything.

Islander First Star Anders Lee

It no longer is a question as to whether the Islanders are going to sign Anders Lee (2009 6th) to a contract but rather when. If there is a more dominant power forward in college hockey then please show him to us as right now Lee is just running all over everyone.

5 games into his sophomore season at Notre Dame, Lee has goals in each game to lead the NCAA with 8 goals after Lee registered his 2nd career hat trick in leading 5th ranked Notre Dame to a 5-1 win over Rensselaer.

Lee is 8-3-11 which is good for 2nd overall in NCAA scoring as the Fighting Irish improve to 3-2 on the season. For the details on how Lee and the rest of the Islander prospects did take a peek right here.

Here is the kind of problem you really like to have; 4 choices to give the 1st star of the night for the Rangers.

Ranger First Star Michael St. Croix

Seriously this is a very happy problem to have as normally it winds up being an easy cut and dried choice to give the stars to. Michael St. Croix (2011 4th) winds up with our nod because his plays were game changers helping his Oil Kings to an 8-4 win over the Portland Winterhawks.

St. Croix made 3 plays in a 1:25 that totally changed this game as it went from 0-0 to a 3-0 Edmonton lead and the Winterhawks never recovered. St. Croix has been hot going 3-7-10 in his last 6 games as the Oil Kings improved to 8-3-1-1 good for a 1st place tie in the WHL's Central Division.

Like we said 4 Ranger prospects could have earned the 1st star tonight so come read the happy details right here.
