Short and so-so

Andrey Pedan (OHL Images)
The only prospect action we had on Sunday involving New York Ranger or New York Islander prospects was in the OHL. Just 2 prospects saw action which 1 sitting out due to suspension.

Andrey Pedan (NYI 2011 3rd) and his Guelph Storm were hosting the Sudbury Wolves. Looking to rebound from being shut out on Saturday night, the Storm jumped on the Wolves for 4 first period goals on their way to a 7-2 win.

Pedan had a 2:assist effort in the win netting both of his assists in the 2nd period. The first 1 came on shorthanded goal at 1:55 as Pedan was credited with a secondary assist.

Less than 2 minutes later at 3:47, Pedan earned the primary assist on Guelph's 6th goal which was also a power play goal. The 2 assists improve Pedan's season to 12-27-39 which is 1 point away from his career best.

Peter Ceresnak (NYR 2011 6th) and his Peterborough Petes took a blow to their hopes does making the OHL playoffs after suffering a 4-1 loss to the Oshawa Generals.

Ceresnak had a quiet game which most likely will earn him another trip to the press box as the Petes move closer towards elimination than a playoff spot.

The Petes are 4 points behind Kingston with just 8 games remaining; Kingston has 10 games remaining.

Adam Pelech (NYI 2012 3rd) sat out the 3rd game of his 5 game suspension watching his Erie Otters drop a 6-3 decision to the Kingston Frontenacs. The loss was the 5th straight for the Otters.
