11 is not a lonely number

Saturday really wasn't much better than Friday night as the play was in several cases sloppy by the New York Ranger and New York Islander prospects. 6 games featuring 9 prospects and really nobody STOOD out as no goals were scored just 3 assists all recorded in the same game. There is talent among the prospects but what we are not seeing is a consistency from them.

Troy Donnay (NYR 2013 UFA) came the closest to earning a star but his 2 assists were more like Donnay being in right place at the right time. Still Donnay along with teammate Adam Pelech (NYI 2012 3rd) played a solid defensive game helping their Erie Otters shut out Jesse Graham (NYI 2012 6th) and his Niagara IceDogs 6-0 for the Otter's new franchise record 11th straight win.

Adan Pelech got the 1 assist that the IceDogs that they really needed when Pelech set up Erie's 1st goal of the game at 8:32 of the first period. The game was relativity simpler for their Otters after they scored their first goal. Jesse Graham didn't score but he was a -2. Niagara dropped their 5th straight.

Loic Leduc (NYI 2012 4th) may not have scored in his Cape Breton Screaming Eagle's 6-2 win over the Acadie-Bathhurst Titan but he posted a +3 on the night.

Adam Tambellini NYR (NYR 2013 3rd) was back at his normal left wing spot when his 6th ranked North Dakote faced 8th ranked St. Cloud State. North Dakota was looking to earn the split but was not able to as St. Cloud State walked away with a 3-1 win. If there is such a thing as a good loss then this would be it as the young North Dakota team is going to play several of these games as the team is asked to grow up on the fly.

Sophomore Steven Fogarty (NYR 2011 2nd) and junior Robbie Russo (NYI 2012 4th) were scoreless as their 2nd ranked Notre Dame defeated Vermont 3-2, The win was the first Hockey East win for Notre Dame.

Doyle Somerby (NYI 2012 5th) and his Boston University Terriers were unable to make it 2 straight wins over 3rd ranked Providence as they lost 3-1 on Saturday night.

Stephon Williams (NYI 2013 4th) was "DNP" for his Minnesota Mavericks.
