(Erie Otters) |
Donnay was a +2 while Pelech was a -1 with a minor for high sticking. With a record of 19-3-1-0, the Otters have the best record in the OHL and when the weekly CHL poll comes out on Wednesday, a strong case for Erie to be the number one in all of the CHL can be made. Going 17-1 in their last 18 games speaks volumes about the Otters being for real and perhaps Kris Knoblauch an early choice for coach of the year.
In the WHL, Ryan Pulock (NYI 2013 1st) was scoreless as his Brandon Wheat Kings won their 4th straight game a 3-2 shootout win over the Swift Current Broncos. Pulock saw his scoring streak end at 5 games (3-6-9) as his Wheat Kings are 6-4 in their last 10 games.
Mackenzie Skapski (NYR 2013 6th) missed his 7th straight start for his Kootenay Ice as the Ice dropped a 3-2 shootout decision to the Everett Silvertips 3-2. The Ice are 3-4 without Skapski in goal for them but there still is no timetable other than "day to day" for Skapski's return.
