Really Short

Victor Crus Rydberg (OHL Images)
Just one game featuring 2 New York Islander prospects was on tap for Sunday as the one New York Ranger prospect scheduled to play remained out with an injury. Victor Crus Rydberg (NYI 2013 5th) led his Plymouth Whalers to a 3-1 win over Jesse Graham (NYI 2012 6th) and his Saginaw Spirit. Crus Rydberg had a 1-1-2 game as he earned the game's first star for his efforts.

With Saginaw up 1-0, Crus Rydberg scored his 12th goal of the season at 14:40 of the second period to tie the game up at 1-1. It was a power play goal and it was the 6th power play goal of the season for Crus Rydberg. Crus Rydberg's assist was the one that set up the game winning goal as Crus Rydberg set up Zach Lorentz for the go-ahead goal at 15:26 of the 3rd period.

The Whalers would add an empty net goal for the final score as Crus Rydberg improves to 12-25-37 on the season. Jesse Graham was scoreless for the Spirit who are dealing with the mystery of what happened to one of their players. Terry Trafford a 20 year old center with the Spirit has been missing since March 3rd.

On top of Kootenay's Tim Bozon still in a medically induced coma remains in critical condition in a Saskatoon hospital this has been one very rough week for the kids playing junior hockey. Sometimes we all are so caught up in the development of these young players that we forget that they are just teenagers. Let us please pray that Trafford is found safe and sound and Bozon makes a recovery from meningitis.

Anthony Duclair (NYR 2013 3rd) missed his 4th game as he deals with an "upper body" injury/concussion.
