Hello My Name is

This may have been an exhibition game, it does not count in either the standings or even in consideration for Prospect of the Year but what Carl Hagelin did in his Michigan debut caught our attention.

Carl Hagelin was the Ranger's 6th Round selection in the 2007 Entry Draft, basically the only thing people agree can agree on is that Carl Hagelin is a skill player who comes from Sweden. Other than that people like Hagelin but disagree on his potential

Give Hagelin credit for making sure he made a splash in his Michigan debut even if it was an exhibition game. We have to hope this is just a sign of what is ahead for him.

All Hagelin did in his debut was score 3 third period goals breaking open what was a defensive struggle as Michigan defeated Western Ontario 5-1. Oh yea Hagelin also earned first star of the game honors while playing a strong game on defense too.

Next up for Hagelin and his Wolverines will be a real big test as they open their season against last years NCAA runner up Boston College as part of the Ice Breaker Invitational in Minnesota.

In the games that mattered, Tomas Zaborsky had an assist but his Saginaw Spirit lost 4-3 to the Niagara Ice Dogs in OHL action. It was a frustrating loss for the Spirit who gave up 3 goals in the second period which sealed their loss.

Even more frustrating is that David Skokan and his Rimouski Oceanic dropped their 8th straight game this time to the Drummondville Voltigeurs 4-0. Skokan though had it even more frustrating as his night ended when he took a 5 minute major and game misconduct late in the 2nd period.

When we get clear details (in English) as to what happened then we will explain what happened in this game but we are expecting that Skokan might have to sit out a game or two.
