Good to see the USA get off to a faster start than they have in their previous 2 games. Looks like Dean Blais is mixing up his lines a bit after saying they were not going to.
Nice to see Luke Walker being shown some love by the announcers; asking a guy who is used to playing on the top line like Walker does in Portland to accept a 4th line role and do it well takes a lot. Walker is really helping his own value not by scoring but by showing his unselfishness.
About time we got to see the real Ryan Bourque, his setup of Jason Zucker is exactly the kind of play we have been waiting to see. Very nice pass right on the stick in a shooting position is what you are wanting to see from a playmaker.
3-0 already in the first period so the challenge for the USA is not to look to pad their numbers but to keep doing what they have been doing.
Clearly Ryan Bourque is playing his best game in a month as he is being aggressive and looking to take the play to Latvia. This is what he must be doing in order to become a legit NHL prospect because of his smallish size.
Kreider adds another goal on the power play as we are now getting to see his offensive skills. Think we can put away any comparisons to Hugh Jessiman now.
Sorry but it is hard to be excited about a 6-0 lead over a vastly overmatched Latvia team. This is not a competition when you are not being challenged.
