Well we got you to look but the Friday night headline for the New York Ranger and New York Islander prospect report is accurate as Islander prospects in head to head match ups did get the better of the Ranger prospects.
The Islander prospects beat the Ranger prospects in the 2 head to head match ups with the best game of the night in the QMJHL where 2 third rounders (Kirill Kabanov and Ryan Bourque put on a great show.
But nobody had the kind of night that Christian Thomas had as the Ranger's 2010 2nd round pick had a 6 point night (3-3-6) as part of his Oshawa General's 10-3 mauling of the Erie Otters.
We have seen 5 point nights before but this efforts is one for the record books as it is not going to take much more from Thomas this weekend to earn the CHL player of the week honors.
The Ranger prospects may not have won the head to head match ups but overall the Ranger scouting staff have to be pretty pleased with the efforts out of the Ranger prospects Friday night. You can see the wrap up right here.
For the Islanders, when they risked using their 2010 3rd round pick on Kirll Kabanov, it was high risk making the pick but Kabanov showed that if he really wants to an even higher reward.
Nobody ever disputes that Kabanov is a world class talent, Kababov does in fact have the kind of tools to dominate a game by himself. The problem is that Kabanov has a father who has chased away 4 different agents with the antics he has pulled. The Lewiston MAINEaic gambled when they traded for Kabanov earlier in the month.
Against the Quebec Remparts, Kabanov paid his first real dividends when the game's first star had a 3 point night to lead his MAINEaics to a 4-3 win for their 9th straight win as well as cut the Remparts lead in the division to just 2 points.
It was just the beginning of a very good night for Islander prospects which you can find right here.
