The Saturday Snoozefest

So we go from one of the very best nights for New York Ranger and New York Islander prospect last night to one of the dullest on Saturday night. Really last night Christian Thomas had 6 points by himself, tonight 21 players combined for 3-5-8.

First Star of the Game Nino Niederreiter (NYI 2010 1st) had 2 of the goals (5 + 6)  as his Portland Winterhawks defeated the Kamloops Blazers 6-4 in a game that saw both goalies ejected for fighting at the end of the 2nd period. And yes as soon as the video goes up we will post it cause you will have to see it to believe this one.

Oh and we suggest that you keep an eye on HockeyFights.com on Sunday for the brawl that took place at the end of the 2nd period here. It was like the goalies were paying tribute to Dan Cloutier

Corey Trivino (NYI 2008 2nd) put up 2 assists as his 2nd ranked Boston University Terriors defeated Blake Kessel"s (NYI 2007 6th) 8th ranked New Hampshire Wildcats 4-2 for a split of their weekend series. Aaron Ness (NYI 2008 2nd) had an assist as his Minnesota Golden Gophers defeated the Michigan Tech Huskies 4-1.

Casey Cizikas (2009 4th) had a secondary assist in Mississauga St. Micheal's Majors 4-1 win over the Owen Sound Attack the Majors have now not lost in their last 13 straight regulation games (12-0-0-1).

That was the entire point output by the Islander prospects, makes no sense do an entire page to tell you how many guys did not score. We will do a mini recap at after the Ranger report.

On the New York Ranger side, Roman Horak (2009 5th) scored his 14th goal of the season with just 1:57 remaining in regulation to force a 2-2 tie with the Regina Pats but the Pats took the game in the shootout for a 3-2 win. Horak did miss his shootout attempt.

Horak ties Christian Thomas for the Ranger prospect scoring lead as both now have 29 points (Horak is 14-15, Thomas 15-14).

Carl Hagelin (2007 6th) had the only other point from a Ranger prospect as he had an assist in 10th ranked Michigan's 3-2 win over Lake Superior State. Hagelin is now 6-9-14 in 14 games.

As with the Islanders make no sense to put up a page saying they did not score but for those people want to know who played:
