The Mistake Of Looking Ahead

Just one prospect saw action on Thursday night as Casey Cizikas (NYI 2009 4th) and his Mississauga St. Michael's Majors were on the road facing the Erie Otters. The Majors can only blame themselves after they let a 2-0 lead slip away and wound up losing in the shootout 3-2 to the Otters.

The Majors did what happens when one is about to face a key rival in a big game and that is to overlook what on paper should be an easy win. The Otters took advantage of this and came away with the extra point from the shootout.

Cizikas saw his 5 game goal scoring streak come to an end but earned a secondary assist to turn it into a 6 game scoring streak (7-4-11). Cizikas also was a +1 to improve his plus/minus to +31 for the season.

The Majors saw a 3 game winning streak become a 4 game unbeaten streak as they get ready to take on the Niagara IceDogs in a pivotal home and home series. The Majors currently lead the IceDogs by 9 points in the OHL's Central Division so it is an understatement to say what is at stake here.
