A Ranger Kind Of Night

If you are a New York Ranger fan then Saturday night was your kind of night but if you are an New York Islander fan then this will be a mostly rough night. For Ranger fans, this was a night where you had your pick of prospects who could have been tonight's first star as 5 prospects had clear direct impacts on the outcome of their team's games.

In the end Christian Thomas (2010 2nd) earned it thanks to a 3 point night where his 29th goal of the season at 18:45 of the 3rd period broke a 5-5 to give his Oshawa Generals a huge 6-5 win over their division leaders Ottawa 67's.

The now runaway scoring leader among Ranger prospects teamed with the Islander/Ranger prospect party on the Generals. Dan Maggio (NYR 2009 6th) had a fight, Tony DeHart (NYI 2010 5th) had an assist and Calvin De Haan (NYI 2009 1st) set up Thomas for the game winner.

Speaking of Dan Maggio, we were expecting him to be suspended but since he was not and before we send you out to the Ranger and Islander pages, here is his fight. It is his 3rd fight in a week as Maggio has jumped to 4 fighting majors on the season (tied for 2nd)

And first the Rangers are here then the Islanders up here.
