There is hot and then there is REALLY HOT

This week it was not all that hard to figure out who was going to be our Prospect Park player of the Week as all one had to do was look at the numbers. In 3 games played there were 4 goals, 1 assist, 3 power play goals and 3 first goals of the game for his team.

That was the week that was for Tomas Zaborsky (2006 5th) of the Saginaw Spirit in the OHL. Zaborsky is on fire scoring goals in 4 straight games while bringing his season numbers up to 8-10-18 in 15 games.

Pretty good numbers for the 5'11 185 lb. left winger from Trencin Slovakia. Zaborsky is skating as an overage player for the Spirit (meaning he is 20 years old) and is going to finish the month of October 6-7-13.

That also happens to be the best numbers of any Ranger prospect even better than the current leader for Prospect of the Month Bobby Sanguinetti who finished 3-9-12. Zaborsky came to North America known as a scorer and it finally appears that he is going to show us his offense.

The other prospect who was under serious consideration for Prospect of the Week was Michigan's Carl Hagelin who had a pretty decent week himself with the game winning goal against Boston University along with an assist. Hagelin (2007 6th) is one of 12 freshman playing on the nation's number 2 ranked Men's College Hockey program but Hagelin is not playing like a freshman.

With 3 goals Hagelin is 3rd on the Wolverines but more impressive is that at a +5 he is tied for the team lead in plus/minus. Hagelin is only a freshman and it is scary how good he might become.

The Newest Ranger Fan

It is always great when we can welcome a new Ranger fan to the crazies who call themselves Ranger fans. We got word this evening announcing the arrival of Miss Francesca Rose Cimilluca the past Saturday.

Young Miss Cimilluca is already breaking hearts with her beauty and grace which we are even happier to report she got from her mother. At last report mother and daughter are doing fine while father is still on the hook for cigars.

Our best wishes go out to the Cimillucas.
