Little of this Little of That

Just one New York Ranger prospect was in action on Monday and that was Tomas Zaborsky and his Saginaw Spirit. The Spirit were on the road facing the Plymouth Whalers taking them to the shootout before losing 3-2.

Zaborsky scored his 24th goal of the season bringing him back into a tie with Ryan Hillier of Halifax for the goal scoring lead among Ranger prospects. At 24-24-48, Zaborsky is now in 2nd place by himself in the prospect scoring race.

Zaborsky though did miss on his shootout attempt which could have kept the shootout going but was stopped by Whaler goalie Jeremy Smith (The Team USA goalie) to preserve the Whaler win.

No Doubt about it

In the Weekly USA Today/ USA Hockey Magazine poll, Carl Hagelin's Michigan Wolverines captured 34 out of 34 first place votes after their dominating sweep of Western Michigan (Max Campbell) this past weekend.

The Wolverines have won 8 straight games along with an 8 game road winning streak as they return home for a weekend series against 8th ranked Notre Dame this weekend. Friday evening's game will be televised on CSTV with a start time of 8:00 PM ET/ 5:00 PM PT
