The second round of the Canadian junior playoffs got under way Wednesday with one game featuring a New York Ranger and a New York Islanders prospect. The Erie Otters open their series with the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds and took game 1 with a 3-1 win to steal home advantage from the Greyhounds.
Troy Donnay (NYR 2013 UFA) recorded his 1st point of the playoffs with a secondary assist on Erie's 1st goal of the game just 1:50 into the game. The Otters jumped out to a 3-0 lead and never looked back. Teammate Adam Pelech (NYI 2012 3rd) was scoreless and a -1 as the Otters held the Greyhounds to 0 for 4 on their power play.
Game 2 will be Friday night in Sault Ste. Marie.
