Ryder Korczak's Four Point Game Powers Moose Jaw Win

Ryder Korczak (Brandon Wheat Kings)
Just four New York Ranger prospects saw action on Tuesday evening with Ryder Korczak's four-point performance powering his Moose Jaw Warriors to a big win. The Ranger's second third-round pick in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft, Korczak has been a very nice surprise this season.

Tuesday night, the game's second-star earned his second four-point performance of the year with a 1-3-4 effort as his Moose Jaw Warriors defeated the Brandon Wheat Kings 7-1. Korczak got his night going with a primary assist on the Warriors' first goal of the game coming just 3:51 into the first period.

In the second period with his team up 2-1, Korczak made it 3-1 when he converted on a breakaway for his career-best 20th goal of the season.

Korczak's speed is very under-rated but as you saw in the clip, when he takes off then he is hard to catch up to.  The goal at 3:30 of the second period started a four-goal outburst that broke the game wide open.

Point three came when teammate Martin Rysavy cashed in the rebound of a Korczak shot to make it 4-1 at 10:06. The fourth and final point for Korczak was a secondary assist on a power-play goal for Brayden Yager which made it a 5-1 lead.

The final line for Korczak was 1-3-4 on two shots with a +4, minors for hooking and cross-checking, and going 6-7 on his faceoffs. For the season Korczak is 20-47-67 which ties his career-best in points.

Third star Will Cuylle was 1-1-2 but it was not enough to keep his Windsor Spitfires from dropping a 4-3 decision to the Sarnia Sting. Cuylle earned a secondary assist on the Spitfires' second goal of the game in the second period which made it a 3-2 game at the time.

In the third, Cuylle's 32nd goal of the season got the Spitfires to within 4-3 but that was as close as they would get. For the Windsor captain, the points improved his season totals to 32-28-60.

Evan Vierling would earn "OHL Play Of The Night" honors on this slick finish to his 18th goal of the season.

Sadly it wasn't enough to prevent Vierling's Barrie Colts from dropping a 5-3 decision to the Mississauga Steelheads. Vierling's efforts were not back as in addition to his goal, Vierling was a +2 on four shots and 14-8 on faceoffs.

Vierling is 18-23-41 on the season for the Colts.

Jayden Grubbe was scoreless on one shot as his Red Deer Rebels defeated the Saskatoon Blades 5-2. Grubbe did however did earn his Rangers' prospect's best fifth fighting major of the season.

Did Not Play

Matthew Rempe was suspended for three games by the WHL as a result of a boarding major that Rempe received against the Everett Silvertips on March 12th. This is Rempe's fourth suspension of the season as he will have missed a total of eight games as a combined result of his suspension.

Rempe can return to play on Sunday when his Seattle Thunderbirds visit the Portland Winterhawks.
