Quiet Night Doesn't Mean A Losing Night

Jayden Grubbe (Red Deer Rebels)
It was a super quiet evening on Tuesday for the four New York Rangers prospects who saw action in game three of their respective series. No goals or assists, but three of the four prospects saw their teams win.

The scoresheet is going to show that Jayden Grubbe was scoreless, but he did have an impact for his Red Deer Rebels as they defeated the Brandon Wheat Kings 3-1 in game three of their WHL playoff series. Grubbe was used as the defensive center taking the faceoffs in the defensive zone and on the penalty kill.

The Rebel's captain was 11-9 on his faceoffs but was a part of the penalty kill that blanked Brandon on all six of their power plays. Red Deer takes a 2-1 lead in the series as they regain home ice advantage.

Game four will be Wednesday night in Brandon.

Ryder Korczak was scoreless as his Moose Jaw Warriors needed overtime to defeat the Saskatoon Blades 3-2 in game three of their WHL playoffs. Korczak was pretty quiet offensively with just one shot on goal and he was 8-10 on his faceoffs.

Moose Jaw takes a commanding 3-0 series lead with game four scheduled for Wednesday night in Saskatoon.

Will Cuylle was scoreless as his Windsor Spitfires dropped game three of their OHL playoff series 5-2 to the Sarnia Sting. The Spitfires lead the series 2-1, with game four scheduled for Thursday in Sarnia.

Cuylle and his teammates pretty much dominated play, but Sarnia's goalie Benjamin Gaudreau (game's first star) was just outstanding.  The Spitfires threw everything they could at Gaudreau, but other than the two goals, they couldn't 't solve him.

Game four will be Thursday night in Sarnia.

Matthew Rempe was scoreless as his Seattle Thunderbirds defeated the Kelowna Rockets 5-1 in game three of their WHL playoff series. Seattle takes a 3-0 series lead as Kelowna hasn't been able to find any offense.

Rempe wasn't credited with any shots and lost the only faceoff he took. Seattle and Kelowna were tied going into the third period and broke the game open with four goals.

Game four is Wednesday night in Kelowna.

Did Not Play

Talyn Boyko did not get the start for the Kelowna Rockets as they hosted game three of their WHL playoff series. It is hard to blame the Rockets as Boyko has a 7.68 goals against in the first two games and Kelowna is trailing in the series 2-0.
