The best offense are good defensemen

Ryan Pulock (Brandon Wheat Kings)
While the rest of the New York Ranger and New York Islander prospects had Monday off in part because of Veterans Day/Remembrance Day, 4 prospects saw action and all 4 were defensemen. Ryan Pulock (NYI 2013 1st) had 3 secondary assists while earning the game's 2nd star as his Brandon Wheat Kings defeated the Lethbridge Hurricanes 5-3.

Pulock got his first assist on Brandon's first goal of the game, a power play goal at 17:44 of the 1st period. In the 3rd period with the Wheat Kings trailing 2-1 Pulock picked up his 2nd assist of the game at 1:06 to tie the score and the 1st of 4 third period goals that would help Brandon win. Pulock's 3rd assist was at even strength but an empty net goal at 19:11 to seal the win for Brandon on their final goal of the game.

Pulock was also a +2 for the game as he improves to 6-11-17 on the season.

Adam Pelech (NYI 2012 3rd) didn't score and was a +1 but earned himself the 1st star of the game as his Erie Otters defeated Jesse Graham's (NYI 2012 6th) Niagara IceDogs 5-3. Pelech was solid especially on the defensive end as the shorthanded Otters earned their 3rd straight win to reclaim the best record in the OHL at 16-3-1-0.

Graham had a secondary assist on Niagara's 2nd goal but was a -1 and took a cross-checking minor that the Otters turned into the game winning goal. Erie's Troy Donnay (NYR 2013 UFA) also was scoreless but had a +1 for his team.

Goalie Mackenzie Skapski (NYR 2013 6th) missed his 3rd game as he recovers for a "lower body" injury.
