Bedard Does It Again

Brett Bedard (Providence)
If it is Friday then it has to be the Brett Bedard show, the sophomore left wing for the Providence Friars scored the game-winning goal with just 1:01 remaining in regulation to give his 14th-ranked Friars a 6-5 come-from-behind win over 8th ranked Denver.

The Friars rallied from down 4-1 after two periods with a five-goal third period that stunned Denver. For Bedard, the goal was his team-best sixth of the season as he improves to 6-3-9 after six games.

It gets better as Bedard while he only got credited two shots attempted seven with all but one coming from in close. Bedard has already surpassed his season totals from last year as he had five in 19 games.

His next point will tie what he did last year. At this rate, Ranger fans will be calling on the team to sign him after this season.

The highlights here with the game-winner starting at 3:30

Jayden Grubbe (Red Deer)
Jayden Grubbe earned second-star honors as his Red Deer Rebels won their second straight game this one was 6-3 over the Lethbridge Hurricanes. Grubbe had a goal as well as a primary assist to improve his season totals to 3-3-6.

In addition, Grubbe led all shooters with nine shots on goal and was 14-4 on his face-offs. Grubbe did take a cross-checking minor that led to Lethbridge's third goal of the game.

Matt Rempe scored his third goal of the season as his Seattle Thunderbirds shutout Talyn Boyko's Tri-City Americans 5-0. Rempe scored Seattle's fifth goal of the game on one shot with a +2 and was 6-6 on his faceoffs.

Boyko stopped 35 out of 39 shots before being pulled after Seattle's fourth goal. Really feel bad for him as the game's third star is playing on a very young and badly inexperienced American team. His numbers just don't reflect how hard he has been playing despite the lack of offensive support.

Tri-City has now dropped four straight games while Seattle earned their second straight win.

Dylan Garand stopped 25 out of 29 shots as his Kamloops Blazers defeated the Vancouver Giants 7-4. Garand had an up and down game, making some great saves but looking bad on a couple of the Giants' goals.

The win was Garand's fifth on the season as he improved to 5-1 with a 2.68 goals against and a 0.900 save percentage with one shutout. The win gives the Blazers a WHL's Western Conference-best 6-1 record.

Will Cuylle was scoreless as his Windsor Spitfires lost in the shoot-out to the Kitchener Rangers 3-2. Cuylle was credited with four shots on goal, a minor for interference, and was 3-3 on his face-offs.

Silly fact: Will Cuylle is currently coached by former NHLer, Marc Savard.

Brody Lamb was scoreless on two shots as his Green Bay Gamblers knocked off the Chicago Steel 2-1 in overtime.

Not sure if this was an accidental omission but Eric Ciccolini wasn't even listed as a "non-dresser" as his Michigan Wolverines lost to Western Michigan.

Hugo Ollas dressed but did not play as his Merrimack Warriors defeated the Boston University Terriers 3-2 in Hockey East Action.
